In a recent feature on Blogtalk with MJ Racadio, director Malgapo Jr. reflected on the honor of Haligi being considered for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards.

He described the moment as a deeply meaningful milestone, not just for the team behind the film but also for Philippine cinema as a whole.

The opportunity to bring the country’s rich narratives and talent to a global platform like Hollywood, he shared, is a testament to the dedication and passion poured into the project.

In a stock exchange filing on Friday, Ayala said Mitshubishi would get 50 percent ownership in AC Ventures Holdings Corp., which owns 13 percent of fintech unicorn Mynt.

“Haligi” delves into the lives of four fathers who stand as the pillars of their families during the tumultuous pandemic and its aftermath. The narrative lays bare the emotional and physical sacrifices these men endure to provide for their loved ones.

Through impactful scenes and heartfelt acting performances, the film unpacks the layers of resilience, sacrifice and strength that define Filipino fatherhood and offers viewers a glimpse into the universal struggles of family life in challenging times.

The Golden Globes awarding ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Jan. 5, 2025.
