Actress-content creator Riva Quenery and Vern Ong confirmed that they had parted ways after a five-year relationship, although they reiterated that they would continue to co-parent their daughter, Athena.

Quenery and Ong confirmed their split in a joint statement on Instagram on Monday, Dec. 30, saying they broke up “a few months ago.” They also clarified that no third party was involved in their split.

“With 2024 coming to a close, we’ve been thinking a lot about new beginnings. We want to take a moment to address our relationship status. As many of you have noticed, we are no longer together. We broke up a few months ago. However, we remain on good terms and continue to co-parent Athena,” they said.

The group said Dimalanta has made significant efforts to ensure that power is affordable for low-income households.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) managed to hold on to the 7,000 level on the last trading day of the week, although it shed 0.03 percent, or 1.82 points, to close at 7,022.85.

The ex-couple added that they have always kept their hardships “private” in hopes of giving Athena a better environment. However, they said that their breakup was “essential” to their growth.

“We don’t want Athena to grow up in a toxic environment. Every decision we make for her, so no one has the right to say that we don’t consider her well-being,” they said.

“We loved each other deeply and genuinely believed we were destined to marry, but parting ways is essential for us to grow. We’ve never had any third-party issues, so we’d appreciate it if those spreading false info could just stop.”

Despite their split, Quenery and Ong thanked their fans for their support, and assured them that they would do their best to co-parent Athena with “love.”

“There are no goodbyes because at the end of the day, we will always be Athena’s parents and we will continue to love and support her,” they said.

The ex-partners also expressed their gratitude to each other on their respective Instagram Stories.

Quenery, while sharing a photo of them while walking toward the sunset, said she’s grateful for her relationship with Ong as they “learned so much from [their] time together.”

“I will always care for you. You were my best friend, and I have never loved anyone like you. Always remember that I’m rooting for you, no matter where life takes us. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of my story. I will carry those memories with me forever. You’ll always have a place in my heart,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ong addressed Quenery as his “only girlfriend,” as he maintained that she was the one who inspired me to become a “better person.”

“I will always love you, and that will never change. My love for you grew deeper when you became the amazing mother of our Athena. Moving forward, I’ll be your silent supporter, rooting for your happiness and success from afar,” he said. “I know I wasn’t as perfect as a partner, but I promise to be as close [to] a perfect father as I can for Athena.”

The content creator said he had “no regrets” in his relationship with the “Make It with You” star, saying she was the only person he dreamed of spending the rest of his life with.

“There was a time when every part of me belonged to you, and you were the only person I dreamed of growing old with. Although we’re going our separate ways now, I wish you nothing but the best. Life will never be the same without you, but I’ll always cherish everything we had,” he said.

Aside from their need for “growth,” Quenery and Ong didn’t disclose the exact reason behind their split.

The ex-couple is known as content creators producing lifestyle and travel content on YouTubettslot, Instagram and TikTok. Quenery also appeared in episodes of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” and the now-defunct drama “Make It with You” in 2020.
